Homemade Teriyaki Sauce with Wasabi Cream Cheese

A fun appetizer for a cocktail or any dinner party. Wasabi Cream Cheese with Teriyaki Drizzle.  My friend Janie served this recipe for one of our Girls Goodies and Gab events.  I have continued to enjoy this on many occasions .  However, I make my own teriyaki sauce !

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger

1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice and zest

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon sesame oil

3 tablespoons mirin  or you can use white wine with sugar or sherry

1/4 cup water mixed with 1 teaspoons cornstarch

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.  For a smooth sauce strain out the bits.
Store in the fridge for up to a month.

Wasabi Cream Cheese  & Teriyaki  served with wonton crisps or rice crackers

Cut one block of cream cheese in half, add a generous amount of wasabi, drizzle with Teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

One of my sayings  … ” it is not about perfection, it is about the passion’.   Cheers to living, loving, laughing and cooking with passion !!
